Project Description

Lily is a playful 10 month WHITE with BLACK DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR. She has beautiful green eyes and just her tail is a striped black. She is spayed and has her claws. Lily enjoys all things kitten–wand toys, laser lights, mice, catnip, you name it, Lily will play with it. Lily gets along great with other cats and has been around dogs. Older respectful children are preferred since she does swat when tired of attention.

Lily is listed as special needs because she suffers from eosinophilic granuloma complex. This condition can be caused by allergies or by an inherited dysfunction of the eosinophil. Because Lily is so young, she likely has the inherited genetic variety. Eosinophilic granuloma complex causes round to oval lesions that can ulcerate. They cause itching and inflammation. The treatment is steroids to control the itching and inflammation. Currently Lily is on a small daily dose which is controlling her symptoms and helping heal the lesions she came in with. Her foster mom is using the transdermal form, which allows you to simply rub a little on her ear. The cost is around $28/month. If you chose pills, it would be less expensive. Her foster mom is also using a limited ingredient diet in case there is an allergic component.

Lily is a sweet girl who deserves a chance at a forever home! SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION FEE $25.  FOSTERED IN DUBUQUE, IA.
