Laurel
LAUREL is a very pretty SHADED CAMEO PERSIAN with amber eyes. She is 2 years old, spayed, has her claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped. She weighs 6 lbs.
Laurel came to us from a breeder that was no longer able to care for her cats. Laurel’s foster mom can tell that this little lady was loved and well taken care of. However, she may not have received a whole lot of interaction and will initially be a bit skittish. She will need a patient owner that allows her to get used to life in her own home and come to them on her own terms.
When her foster mom comes into the room and finds Laurel hanging out in her kitty cave, Laurel is very receptive to getting some love and pets from her foster mom. She rolls over to expose her belly, starts purring right away, and makes air biscuits to show her appreciation.
She does not appear to be too interested in playing with wand toys right now, but her foster mom encourages her future home to engage in some play time to increase her confidence. Laurel can sometimes be found lounging on a cat tree and watching out the window to see what is going on.
Laurel is currently rooming with one of her Himalayan “sisters” from the same breeder. We feel that she would do well with another fur bud of similar breed and age. Ideally, she would love to be adopted with her sister. One of the pictures shows both of them huddled together in a felt cat cave.
Her foster parents don’t have dogs, but perhaps a gentle dog who loves kitties might be fine for her. Older, cat savvy children would probably be okay for her. Preference will be given to adopters who are familiar with the upkeep of a long-haired cat. She will need some gentle eye cleaning once in a while, but her eyes do not seem prone to weeping.
Laurel eats both wet and dry food and she is using her litter box perfectly.
