Rory
If you haven’t had a red kitty in your life yet, well what are you waiting for? Say Hello to Rory! He is 5 1/2 months old Red Mackerel Tabby Domestic Short Hair. He is neutered, current on the necessary kitten vaccinations (distemper and rabies), negative for FIV/ FeLV, dewormed, microchipped, has all his claws, litter box use is 100% and he eats both wet and dry food. He has those expressive round light green eyes, that little pink nose and an easy to care for coat.
Rory came from an environment where he was an only kitty and sadly mishandled when he was still a tiny kitty. )-: Luckily someone understood that he was not in a good situation and rescued him and then he found his way to SPCR and a new start on his life…
He is now a happy little boy who loves to purr, doesn’t mind being picked up and held (when he’s not in play mode), likes to receive pets, he can be a lap cat if his Sherpa blanket is involved. But he really loves to play and explore and kitty wrestle, and yes, he gets the kitty zoomies. Favorite toys are just about any wand toy, but his favorite is the mink mouse wand toy, next, any automated toy that moves on its own, balls that krinkle or make rattle noise when played with, the multi tunnel that he can run through and hide in, coiled springs and ping pong balls and of course catnip toys. He loves to climb up to the top of the tall cat tree in his foster room to watch the birds and the squirrels and turkeys outside and this is where he is most often found napping during the day and where he sleeps at night, so his foster parents know he would really like a tall cat tree at his forever home.
Rory was introduced to his kitty roommate Delia, she also came to her foster home as a single kitten, (and is also posted for adoption at this time! ) and they have done well together. Rory has also been introduced to his foster homes own cats and between their interaction with him and Delia he is learning the social cues he needed to learn on how to interact and respect all temperaments of cats. And he is learning them. He will definitely need another young, playful kitty or young cat that he can play and wrestle with in the home or one that can join him at the same time like Delia (also posted now) who he already knows! Or another kitten currently on our website looking to be adopted, that would appreciate a wrestle buddy.
Because of his past, he needs an adult only home or one with older respectful kids (15+) that have grown up with kittens. He has not been around dogs, but given a slow introduction to an easy going dog that has lived with active kittens before, he should be ok.
Rory’s life started out on the rocky side, but he now knows that there are kind loving people out there who will cherish this little red boy and provide that loving forever home for him. Could that be with you!?! Adoption Fee $175. Fostered in Milwaukee, WI.
