Ludwig

LUDWIG is a 5 month old BLUE POINT HIMALAYAN male kitten. He is FeLV/FIV negative, up to date on shots, and neutered. He is also microchipped and has all of his claws.

He came into care when his owner could no longer care for him. Ludwig takes a bit to learn his surroundings as he is blind. He was born this way. The vet thinks that he may see some light and dark, but not much else. He is 100% with his litter box, but does require one shallower pan to get in and out of. It does take him some time to get used to his surroundings and where his litter boxes are, so an adopter would need to be patient with this. He would need to start off in a small space, so he can get to know where things are and feel comfortable. He would also need someone who is not going to move furniture around as it can be really hard on him since he cannot see. He is able to do stairs by himself, but it can take him a bit of time to get up and down.

He is an extremely sweet kitty who just wants to be loved. As soon as his foster mom walks in the room, he begins to purr. He loves to rub up against her legs and enjoys pets. He does play with toys and does best with toys that make some sort of sound. He will chase and bat them around. He is still a kitten, so he does have that energy yet, but a few play sessions a day would be helpful.

He does let you groom him and purrs when you brush him, but prefers shorter sessions. Ludwig lets you pick him up, but is not overly fond of this due to his sight, so he would prefer to keep his paws on the ground. Ludwig eats dry and wet food, but highly prefers his wet food and will call his foster mom for breakfast and dinner.

He lived with both cats and dogs in his previous home and would do well with both passive cats and dogs. He is unsure of new animals at first and hides, but in time will warm up. He would not do well with high energy pets or pets that are overly dominant as that would be very stressful to him.

Ludwig would be best in a home with kids 8 or older as younger children may be more unpredictable and having toys in different spots would be stressful for him as he really needs consistency and routine.

He will need to go to a home with another young cat or kitten OR to someone who is home all day to give him the love and attention he so craves. Who has room in their heart for this absolute lovebug?
