Leilani

LEILANI is a sweet 8 year old CALICO PERSIAN. She is front declawed,  spayed, and has beautiful gold eyes. She is just over 8 pounds. She has been fully vetted, is up to date on shots, dewormed, microchipped, and is FeLV/FIV negative, and is ready to go to her forever home.

Leilani came to rescue from a hoarding situation. She has had a dental done and had 11 teeth extracted. She only has her canines left and a few front bump teeth. She will eat either wet or dry food, she is not particular about what she eats even with minimal teeth. She enjoys playing with wands, mice, balls, and springs. She was very matted when she came in and had to be shaved. That is still growing out. She is fairly tolerant of brushing, but will need an owner who is dedicated to brushing her and making sure she has a good groomer. Her eyes also need to be cleaned out on a regular basis.

Leilani can be shy and takes a little bit to warm up. She leans into head scratches and pets once she is secure in her surroundings. She does also chat with her foster mom when she is feeling the need to express any concerns she has. She lived with multiple cats, and does well with most cats.  The resident boxer does not seem to bother her at all. It is unknown if she was ever around children. Because of her previous situation, she would probably do better in a quieter home.

Because Leilani is front declawed she was having litter box issues as described in the video.  Those issues have been resolved with a specific litter box regimen.  She needs 1-2 boxes with chux pads/pee pads that need to be changed after each use as she does not like to use the pad once it is dirty.  She will use wood shavings or the pee pad for stool.  Because of the specific litter box needs she is listed as special needs.
