Kohana

PLEASE NOTE: Although this girl is part Balinese and they are thought to be a more hypoallergenic breed, there is NO CERTAINTY that this girl or any breed of cat will not cause an allergic reaction in someone that is allergic to cats or thinks they may have allergies to cats. This is why many cat breeds that are thought to be more hypoallergenic end up in rescues.

Say Hello to this Adorable and Beautiful little girl KOHANA, who’s name means little flower and that she is!   She is a little LILAC POINT BALIESE MIX, approximately 1-1.5 years old and weighs approximately 6.3 lbs.  She is spayed, vaccinated for Distemper and Rabies, tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, microchipped and has all her claws.  She has the silky soft, light colored coat and the paler lilac-blue color points. And those beautiful ice blue colored eyes.

Kohana is such a sweetheart, she is a very personable, outgoing kitty who fit in right away into her foster home.  She loves to be pet, will come sit in your lap for pets, start to purr and may fall asleep there.  Oddly she hasn’t slept on the bed with her foster parents, at least not yet,  preferring to sleep in one of the beds in the cat tree in the room. But that may be because she really likes the one bed that has a heated mat under the blanket right now (smart kitty!) So if you have a fireplace, she may be one of those kitties that you’ll find laying in front of it when in use this winter!   She’s inquisitive, wants to know what’s behind doors and in those open drawers and cabinets.  But she does listen when her foster mom says No.  She gets a little nervous when you pick her up, but she doesn’t become frantic or try to get down right away.

Of course she likes to play as she is still a young girl.  She can be a little timid around toys that move on their own, that is until she gets use to what they do.   One of her favorite pastimes though is watching the birds and wildlife outside, especially the birds at the bird feeders.  She has a small meow, but hardly ever uses it.  She eats both wet and dry food, but seems to prefer wet. And her litter box use is 100%

She does great with other kitties that don’t bully her.  While at her wellness visit at the veterinary clinic, although she wasn’t face to face with a dog she heard and knew one was there and was not happy about that, so sorry but no dogs for this little girl.  She should be fine in a quiet home with older, respectful kids ( 8+) that have lived with cats before and would play gently with her with wand toys.  Little kids would not be a good fit for Kohana, as, she does like to nibble on fingers sometimes. It’s not an aggressive act, but rather playful action, but little ones may not understand this. And a busy active household would also not work for her, as loud, fast movements can frighten her and send her hiding.  As mentioned earlier, although she is part Balinese, there is no guarantee that she would not cause a reaction in someone that has allergies to cats or thinks they may be allergic to cats. This may be the very reason she found herself at a large city shelter, and we wouldn’t want that to happen to her again.

Kohana is a beautiful, little flower,  of a kitty, who is going to become even more beautiful and loving in her Forever Home❣️   ADOPTION FEE $200. FOSTEREDIN MILWAUKEE, WI
