Dee Dee

DEE DEE is a darling GRAY SCOTTISH FOLD with greenish eyes and an adorable pixie face. She is 11 months old, spayed, has her claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped. She weighs a little over 6 lbs.

Dee Dee found herself tossed out on the streets of Kuwait. Fortunately for this precious little cat, our rescue partner in Kuwait scooped her up before anyone could harm her and then worked diligently to get her transported to the US and into foster care with SPCR.

This super cute fur baby wears a lush, short blue coat with breed-standard blue nose leather and paw pads. This gentle lamb has warmed up quite quickly in the relatively short time she’s been with her foster mom. She is a loving, chill, sweet kitty who likes to roll around and show her little tummy for some rubs. She enjoys it when her foster mom swishes a mink wand toy around for her to catch. Other than that, she currently isn’t exactly a play monster, but that may still happen. She also is more of a “low to the ground” kitty; she doesn’t seem to be interested in jumping up onto higher grounds so it would be safe to assume that she is probably not going to jump up on kitchen counters.

Dee Dee is listed as Special Needs because SPCR had her tested for any potential genetic abnormalities associated with the breed and she only carries one copy of the “fold” gene. Xrays evaluated by three separate vets indicate that she has early arthritis, which is not unusual in folds with her genetic makeup. What this means is that she will need a loving, experienced home that will be committed to her comfort and care. Initially this will probably mean monthly shots to keep her pain free and then the guidance of a good veterinarian as to further care.

She doesn’t seem to be too fond of other kitties, so we would prefer her to go to a home where she can be the only tiny queen of the household. However, she may be okay with a similar breed of cat with proper introductions. Older, respectful kids should be fine for her. Since her foster parents don’t have any dogs, we cannot comment on how she would do with a dog.

Dee Dee is using her litter box perfectly. She eats both wet and dry food so we would like to find her a home that will continue to offer both.

This little girl has been through so very much, we are really hoping the right FurEver home will see this listing and come forward to provide her with the care and love she so desperately needs!
