Chauncey

Chauncey is an adorable 6-year-old CREAM PERSIAN. He weighs seven pounds, is neutered and has his claws. This sweet boy was left behind in a Chicagoland apartment, and a nice lady found him and whisked him into rescue.

Chauncey wears a beautiful buff classic cream Persian coat, has captivating copper eyes, and a sweet rose nose. This boy is a very gentle, shy lamb who is coming out of his shell at his foster house. He’s currently rooming with kittens and an adult cat, and he gets along great with others.

This boy will need standard Persian care including regular grooming, either professionally or at home. It is important to keep him mat free, so his new family must be committed to keeping him groomed. Chauncey’s coat was a bit rough when he came into rescue, and we’ve been working on it. Chauncy doesn’t love being combed, but he tolerates it. True to his heritage, Chauncey’s eyes also need daily care, but he’s great about it.

Because he is shy, Chauncey is asking to go to a quiet home with a patient family who will let him blossom in his own time. He’s slowly becoming comfortable in his foster home, but he still doesn’t come to us when we reach out to pet him. A home with one or two other gentle fur buds would be fine. This boy’s best home is likely with one or two adult humans, but we’d consider a home with older, respectful kids. Chauncey had a urinary tract infection when he arrived, but with good care and antibiotics it cleared up nicely. His new family will need to monitor him to make sure he maintains a healthy urinary tract.
