We adopted Dinah in October 2019 and she is now the queen of our one-bedroom apartment. We don’t know what we’d do without her! She keeps us on schedule all day: from sitting on the sink while we brush our teeth in the morning to herding us into the bedroom for nighttime treats, she’s our little buddy. Dinah’s always next to us, under us, or right in our faces trying to steal our food.

When we first got Dinah, we assumed she’d always be a quiet girl. She was extremely skittish and had all these cuts on her nose, supposedly from a fight with another cat. She was a tiny girl and every time she sneezed (she came with a kitty cold), she’d scare herself and jump in the air. We learned that the cuts were her own doing — they cleared up once we put her on allergy meds — and, after she learned to trust us, her personality did a complete 180.

Dinah always, ALWAYS wants to play and will turn anything into a toy. Her favorite game is chase, which we hope our downstairs neighbors don’t mind. She’s mischievous and curious and loves playing the piano (also sorry to our neighbors). Dinah inspects every package and food item we bring home and plays guard cat, sitting by the door whenever there are noises outside in the hallway. She’s our little protector and supervisor, and we thank her with chin scratches and playtime.

My partner grew up with three Siamese/Snowshoe siblings that his family found as kittens in their bushes. When we decided to get a cat, his only criteria was that we find another Snowshoe and my only criteria was that we adopt a rescue. So SPCR was the perfect solution! Dinah has become an irreplaceable part of our little family and we can’t thank SPCR enough for bringing her into our lives.
