Purrcy
PURRCY is a WHITE DOMESTIC MEDIUM HAIR WITH VAN MARKINGS and golden eyes. This adorable boy is 3-4 years old, neutered, has his claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, dewormed and microchipped. He weighs close to 10 lbs.
Purrcy came to us from a shelter. We were told that after his owner went into assisted living, the family unceremoniously dumped him and 7 other cats out on the street to fend for themselves. The good news for Purrcy is that our organization couldn’t resist helping such a lovely boy and he found his way into foster care.
While his foster mom loves all kitties, there are always some kitties that are an instant hit and could easily become what we call a “foster failure”. Purrcy totally fits into that category. Not only is he oh so pretty with his soft white fur and the lightest of caramel colors on his forehead, but he is showing himself to be somewhat of a therapy cat. When he comes over to his foster mom for pets, he will roll over and expose his belly, as if he is offering himself up for love. While some kitties will nip when their bellies get rubbed, that is not the case with Purrcy. He just rolls around purring up a storm, which is how he came by his name.
Purrcy is purrfect in all ways, as far as his foster mom is concerned. He is an easy going and quiet little gentleman. When it’s time to engage in some play time, he enjoys it when his foster mom swishes a mink wand toy or DaBird around for him to catch. He shows off his hunting prowess by jumping up high in the air to catch “da thing”. It is delightful to watch his athleticism and excitement. Since this is such good exercise and stimulation for him, his best home is with someone who is willing to engage in this type of interaction a couple of times a day. He can also spend a good amount of time entertaining himself by batting around various toys or bunny kicking a fat catnip mouse.
Purrcy has met his foster parents’ own cats and while respectful with some of them, he was not a fan of one of the male cats. He is currently rooming with another female foster kitty without any issues. Therefore we always suggest very slow and proper introductions if someone wants to adopt him into a home with a resident cat. He should be fine with cat savvy children. Since his foster home doesn’t have dogs, we don’t know how he would do with a dog but assume a cat friendly, laid-back dog who would leave him alone should be ok.
Purrcy eats both wet and dry food and uses his litter box perfectly.
