Hazelnut

HAZELNUT (aka Hazel) is a gorgeous, 1 year old, female DOMESTIC LONGHAIR and weighs about 7 pounds. She has a beautiful black coat, sprinkled with white and a long bushy tail. She is current on her vaccinations and has all her claws. Hazel came to SPCR from a shelter where she was found outside, all alone at about 8 weeks old. When she came to her foster home, she avoided interacting with her foster family for several weeks as she was scared and not used to being around people. She took solace in her foster siblings as she adapted very quickly to other kittens in foster. It took a few months for Hazel to come out of her shell and now her favorite activity with her people is to play with toys. She enjoys playing with wand toys, running on the big wheel, and playing and wrestling with her foster siblings. She likes being petted, but on her terms and only when she’s done playing! She is skittish with loud noises, but she’s ready to continue her journey to being a lovable companion in her forever home. Hazel has been a wonderful house guest, eating well (she is very food motivated!) and using her litter box 100% of the time. She is very friendly with other cats and the best home for her would be with other friendly cats that she can play and bond with. She would be OK with a very respectful dog that would leave her alone and she would need a long, slow introduction. Hazel has not been exposed to children and she runs away when not comfortable in a situation; as a result, her foster family believes a home with older children would be best. She is curious, silly, playful, and when it’s time to eat, she can be vocal, albeit with a very small voice! Hazel will need a patient family that is willing to let her adjust at her own speed and find her place.  ADOPTION FEE  $75. FOSTERED IN UNION GROVE, WI.
