Zeke

ZEKE arrived as a diamond in the rough who it took a while for him to shine!  He is a handsome SEAL POINT SIAMESE with a sleek coat of fur and light blue eyes.  He is 6 years old, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, weighs 9lbs, and has his claws.  Zeke is Special Needs because he is having transdermal Fluoxetine (applied to surface of ear) to help him adjust to changes.  An adopter may be able to discontinue it over time once he settles-in to his new home.

Zeke has many facets that needed to be discovered and polished.  He loves to snuggle on a warm lap and is an equal opportunist between his foster mom and foster dad.  When the laps are full with other cats or computers, he is also content to lay on a fleece blanket in a chair.  When Zeke wakes in the morning, he is full of energy to run and play.  After that, he will then sleep through much of the day.  He embodies Jackson Galaxy’s phrase, “Hunt, Catch, Kill, Eat, Sleep” which he repeats at supper time.  Zeke enjoys bunny-kicking his catnip toys, chasing DaBird, and tossing small toys into the air.

Another facet is that Zeke had not lived with other cats and did not know how to interact with them here.  He has polished his act and now roams freely and gets along well with all 4 who live here.  Zeke doesn’t mind being picked up, carried for a short time, placed in a pet carrier, combed regularly, nor does he mind having his toenails trimmed by the foster mom.  The vet said she would have estimated Zeke’s age to be much younger if it had not been for the surrender paperwork that says otherwise.

Zeke is highly intelligent, sensitive, and very sweet to his foster mom.  He appears to have been treated badly by a man in his past life as he doesn’t like a man to be walking near him and he hisses in fear.  Because of this, a home without men would be preferred.  As Zeke has not lived with children, a house without children (under 18 years of age) would be ideal and preferred.  Zeke was surrendered by his owner who obtained him from a breeder as a kitten and raised him with a German Shepard.  Zeke would likely do well with an older dog that is not highly active.

To summarize, Zeke would like a home without men and without children but would be fine to live with another feline or a canine.
