Willow

WILLOW is a rare breed a LYNX POINT HIGHLANDER MUNCHKIN.  She has the trademark characteristics of a Highlander which are to have ears curled back, a bobbed tail, and polydactyl on all four paws.  Willow’s body is long like a typical feline yet her legs are less than half the length since she is a Munchkin.  She has gold eyes, very short fur, is estimated at 1 ½ years of age and weighs 6.8lbs.  Willow tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is spayed, has her claws and is microchipped in preparation for her new, loving home.

Willow can be described by using analogies to many other animals…she hops like a rabbit, flags her tail like a White-Tailed Deer, chirps like a bird, runs and jumps like a Cheetah, and is busy like a squirrel. Willow provides endless entertainment as she amuses herself by playing with fur toys, foam balls, jingle balls, rugs that slide across the floor, and anything else that catches her eye.  Willow is interested in other cats for play and friendship, but reserved cats might find her forward personality of attempted head-bumps and side-body rubs to be a bit much from a new housemate.  Willow can readily climb up the stairs and sometimes turns her body sideways on the way down.  She can easily jump onto living room furniture, the height of a bed, and uses cat towers to reach high shelves.  She is not, however, a cat who can jump onto kitchen counters straight from the floor.

Not only is Willow’s breed uncommon, but her personality is uncommon as well.  She is confident, nonplussed by rejection (when a cat hisses at her), and entertains herself endlessly.  She is quick to make friends with humans, wants to make friends with cats, and would seemingly do well with a cat-friendly dog.  She is curious and follows humans arounds the house when she isn’t too busy playing or birding.  Willow enjoys the lap of her favorite human and immediately purrs when caressed and petted by anyone.  Willow hides from noisy situations so quiet children, over age 8, might be fine as well as a quiet dog that is well socialized to cats.

Behaviorally, Willow is still a kitten.  She spends a lot more of her awake time to run and play than is typical for adult cats.  She is also still being trained that human hands are not toys.  She stops when you blow a puff of air into her face so it will be important that her adopter continue her training.

Willow is easy to please regarding food as she eats Iams dry food, canned food, and loves her Churu treats.
