Whimbs

Presenting… WHIMBS! Even his name is cute!  He is a 2-year old WHITE PERSIAN who has all of his claws. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.

Whimbs came to SPCR when his owner felt he could be better cared for in another home. Persians have high-maintenance coats (and Whimbs needs to be brushed daily!) but the good news is he likes being brushed. It makes him purr. It turns into a game of “attack the brush” when one tries to brush his tummy, but he’s easily distracted with a toy or a treat. His beautiful white coat has a few short patches where he was shaved to remove mats, but the fur is growing back nicely and his foster home has been able to maintain his coat with a few minutes of brushing daily. His eyes do not need as much wiping as a more squished-face Persian, and he has no under-eye staining.

Whimbs is easygoing and bonds quickly with people. He loves to nap with his favorite humans, and will flop over a arm, snuggle under a chin, or borrow beneath the blankets. When his purr gets going, he drools and shakes his head, sending it flying!!! Somehow, even his drool splatter is endearing. He also likes to hang out in the sink.

He doesn’t like big dogs. He’s ok with his smaller female foster cat friend, but for the first few weeks of foster care it seems as if he might be trying to bully her (much chasing and swatting). The relationship has evened out with time and they’ve reached a truce. But it is possible he may not get along with some other cats.
