Vanessa
VANESSA is a beautiful 2.5 yr old BLUE MITTED RAGDOLL with the brightest blue eyes and softest fur. She is up to date with rabies and distemper vaccines, microchipped, felv/fiv negative, 100% litterbox, dewormed, spayed, and has her claws.
This poor girl was a breeder and was very sick when we got her, with pyometra and stomatitis. She was in horrible pain. I don’t know how she could still be friendly with all she was going through! She got spayed and got all of her back teeth pulled except for the 4 cuspids (sharp teeth or fangs) and a couple of small incisors in front. Going through the healing process wasn’t easy, but she made it, and feels SO much better now! Her remaining teeth have been polished and cleaned, and gums are in great shape. Stomatitis is believed to be caused by an overreaction of the immune system to plaque on the teeth, so regular dental visits would be important to her, to maintain the healthiness of her remaining teeth. Her teeth were broken, infected, so not surprising her immune system was working overtime. But she has been all vetted, and feels like a new girl!
When SPCR first got her, because of her former tough life, she was very afraid of people, but she has blossomed into a very loving girl! She loves petting and butt scratches and likes to be combed because she is told everyday by her fostermom, that she is such a pretty girl! She can be picked up and cuddled for short periods, is learning that belly rubs might be a good thing, but she’s still learning. She doesn’t really like your hand over her face, because I’m sure of past scruffing. She knew nothing about toys when she got here, but now likes to play with wand toys and jumping in/out of her play center, while chasing the
da rat. She loves laying on cat trees in front of windows to watch the wildlife and catch the sun. She always greets her fosterparents at the foster room door. She’s a very quiet little girl, but does like to purr. She is a low key player and would like nothing better than spend time lounging, following you around the house to see what you’re up to, and spending time with her new family.
She will at first be skittish with new people, so she probably won’t show her best side at the adoption, but with time and a little patience, she’ll turn into the lovely girl she is here. She’s been wonderful at her fosterparents’ house, and getting better every day!
The best home would be as an only cat in a quiet home, where someone is home most of the day. Dogs and small children would be too stressful for her.
