Tom Thumb

TOM THUMB is a BROWN TABBY EXOTIC LONGHAIR. He just turned 1 year old. He is current on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, has his claws and is microchipped. Tom weighs 6.6 lbs.

Tom Thumb was lovingly surrendered to SPCR by a retiring breeder. He is an adorable and gentle little guy. He is a pretty mellow cat, but loves to get attention from people (just does not like to be picked up and carried around). He does have a playful side and likes playing with wand toys and toys that he can bat around on the floor. He especially likes to be by people. He follows his foster mom around and likes to observe while she cooks, does dishes, reads, works on the computer etc. He will sit on the couch with his foster family and likes to be close to them, but does not sit on their laps often (probably because with all his fur that would make him hot)

Tom has a thick coat, but likes to be brushed. He has copper eyes. Tom has very big paws, especially compared to the rest of his body. His foster mom thinks that this makes him look extra adorable. His eyes are a bit weepy, so his new family will have to wipe his eyes to keep him looking his best.

Tom has a misalignment of his jaw which resulted in him having his 2 bottom canine teeth removed. The jaw misalignment does not cause him any problems, but does mean that he is kind of a messy eater. He is also showing signs that he does not have the best of teeth and gums and more dental work will be needed in the future. His adoptive parents will have to understand this, and be willing to provide him with continued dental care in the future. (due to this he does have a reduced adoption fee).

Tom Thumb eats mostly canned food. The vet thinks he would benefit from eating some dry food in addition to the wet food. His foster mom has been working with him on this, but would encourage his adoptive parents to continue as well.

Tom gets along well with other calm cats. He has never been around dogs, and may do well with an older dog who would leave him alone.  School age kids would also be fine as Tom seems to love everyone he meets.
