Tanoshi

TANOSHI is a wonderful SEALPOINT SNOWSHOE SIAMESE. He is approximately 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated for distemper and rabies, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, microchipped and has his claws.  He has beautiful sky blue eyes that are slightly crossed, which his foster mom thinks is always so cute on all Siamese that have that trait. And of course being a snowshoe he has the milk white paws and boots. Then add in a white bib and belly, (that he lets you pet),  a splash of white down his nose. And to make him more irresistibly cute, the very tip of his tail is also white as if it was dipped in milk.

Tanoshi’s name means Delightful and it fits this boy perfectly!  He is the perfect blend of loving and wanting to be where his person/people are and yet is fine being on his own too.  He definitely will come looking to sit in his foster moms lap at times throughout the day and will curl up and fall fast asleep there. He is fine with being picked up and held and carried about and will pleasantly talk with you when he knows the conversation is directed his way.

Tanoshi can be playful at times but so far has not been overly active.  He likes to play with catnip toys and other small toys on his own and of course will also play with wand toys with you too, but he absolutely loves to watch/talk to birds at the bird feeders.   He enjoys eating both wet and dry food. And his litter box use is 100%.

Tanoshi was found as a stray. He was very, very thin and his coat was in sad shape. He had already been neutered when he was found and walked right into the carrier that was placed down so that he could be taken to a rescue. So it was pretty clear he had been cared for by someone at some point in time in his life and wasn’t doing well trying to survive outside on his own.  The rescue that found him would have taken him inbut they were already at capacity, so they reached out to SPCR and that is how he found his way to us. While in his foster home he has been eating well, putting on weight and his coat is filling in and feeling so much softer and looking so much better!

He has been introduced to his foster homes own cats and although he likes his space, he does coexist with them. So we know, given a proper introduction, he can live with other easy going cats.  He’d also be fine being a one and only cat too!  We don’t know how he would be living with a dog but think he may be ok, given a slow introduction, with a gentle, quiet, easy going dog that has lived with a cat before. His foster home is on the quiet side and he has done well in this environment.  He hasn’t been around children either while in his foster home , but should be ok in a home on the quiet side with older kids (8 and up) that have lived with cats before.

Tanoshi is just the best combination of a lovable lap kitty that’s not overly needy and we know he’s going to make his adopter(s) very happy!
