Talkeetna

TALKEETNA is an endearing, LYNX POINT BALINESE MIX with beautiful blue eyes.  Talkeetna is about 2 years of age and weighs 7.8 lbs.  She is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is spayed, has her claws and has been microchipped in preparation for a new, loving home.

Talkeetna was surrendered to SPCR from an animal shelter accompanied by her litter of kittens.  Prior to the shelter, she had not received proper nutrition because she was very thin and most of her kittens were malnourished as a result. The good news is that Talkeetna received assistance from her foster mom who bottle-fed her kittens.  The kittens continued to nurse for emotional support, but there wasn’t enough milk for them to grow without supplemental care.  She has raised her kittens and is ready to begin a new life with a new family.

Talkeetna is a patient and gentle soul who likes to knead a plush blanket like a kitten herself.  She comes over when you ask her to join you.  She enjoys being brushed and petted.  Talkeetna’s fur is medium length without noticeable shedding.  She eats dry food and especially enjoys juicy wet food including with gravy.  She has gained weight in foster care but appears to have plateaued, so weight management doesn’t appear to be a problem for her.  She tolerates having her toenails trimmed and uses the cat tower to shed layers of her claws.  She is simply an easy keeper.

Talkeetna is socialized to people, but appears to not appreciate cats and would likely not appreciate dogs.  If an adopter were interested in Talkeetna along with one of her kittens, she would be fine with that because they still live together.  It appears that Talkeetna would also be fine with respectful children who are aged 10+.
