Snuggles
SNUGGLES is a precious GRAY DOMESTIC LONGHAIR with blue eyes. He is about 7 years old, neutered, has his claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped. He weighs around 10 lbs.
Snuggles came to us from a shelter so his history is a complete mystery. We know that he was neutered at the shelter, and when he landed in foster care, his foster mom noticed that he had a lump on his belly. It turned out to be a hernia which we had surgically repaired. Thankfully it turns out that Snuggles seems to be very content hanging out in a cat playpen during part of the day. This is fortunate for a couple of reasons, 1) it allows him and his foster parents’ own kitties to coexist harmoniously in the same room, and 2) it made his recovery from surgery so much easier. It also seems to suggest that he was used to being kept in a confined space. However, his foster mom is not suggesting that he should be kept confined, but after fostering many kitties, has rarely fostered one who seems to be so happy, unbothered, and quiet while lounging low to the ground. He also does enjoy sitting on a cat tree, so if his future home has one to offer, I am sure you’ll find him sitting in it regularly.
His foster mom absolutely adores him and thinks he is one of the sweetest cats she has ever met. He is incredibly soft (seriously, like a little cloud) and has the calmest, kindest purrsonality. One look into his light blue eyes will make your heart melt (at least that is the effect he has on his foster mom). Snuggles enjoys when his foster mom swishes the mink wand toy around for him to show off his catching prowess, but otherwise is not overly playful – he would much rather spend his time lounging nearby, or snuggled up on your lap while reading or watching TV (hence his name).
His foster mom enjoys all of the soft chirps when he interacts with her, as if he is sharing his life’s story with her. In the interest of full disclosure, he can be quite vocal when he needs attention or is in a place where he can’t see you and thus uses his voice to be heard. If you are bothered by that, he may not be the right companion. He does have one great passion in life: wet food. Mealtime is his favorite time of day, and he’ll happily remind you when it is approaching. We are currently feeding him three square meals a day which he very much appreciates.
His foster mom thinks he should be okay with another kitty, of course with slow and proper introductions. His foster parents don’t have dogs, but sense that he might be fine with a cat friendly dog. Children who are gentle and cat savvy would be fine for him as well..
To sum it up, he is simply magical; the kind of companion who makes a house feel peaceful and warm just by his presence. His foster mom hopes that he will find a wonderful forever home where his new family will become equally fond of him.
