Shadow

SHADOW is a darling 3-year-old BLUE POINT HIMALAYAN. She is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and has her claws.

We know very little about this sweet girl’s background. She was surrendered to rescue (with another kitty who has since been adopted) by a kind woman who became aware that they were at risk and needed a new home. Shadow is listed as special needs because she is quite shy – and although she’s been in rescue for several months now, she is still easily frightened. However, she has grown fond of her foster dad and seeks pets from him.

Shadow is true to her name. She’s a very shy, adorable lamb at a petite 5-1/2 pounds with classic blue-point Himalayan features, including a sweet slate nose and trademark baby blue eyes that can melt hearts. She’s like a cat only smaller.

When Shadow came into rescue, she was quite matted and is now growing out of a professional lion cut. She will need to learn to be combed at home or be taken to a groomer periodically to stay mat free and feeling her best. It is important that her new family understands her grooming requirements and is committed to keeping her groomed.

She is a good eater and enjoys wet food. Shadow is asking to go to a home that will continue to feed it to her. She’s looking for a quiet, patient home and a family who will work with her to overcome her shyness in her own time. Best practice will be to start this sweetheart in a small safe room until she is comfortable with the sounds, sights and smells of her new home. It could take weeks or even months until she becomes accustomed to her new place. But we’ve no doubt that she will eventually settle and grow into a loving companion. This little one will do best in a patient home experienced working with shy cats.

We think given proper introductions, Shadow would be fine with another friendly feline or two. We think she’d do best in a quiet home with no dogs or small kids. This sweet lamb is looking for a chance to be happy and learn how to love — a special kitty looking for a special home who will love her unconditionally and give her the chance she deserves.
