Scarlett

SCARLETT is a dainty VIOLET and CREAM PERSIAN with soft copper eyes.  She has a slender body and is just now up to 6 lbs.  She is 10 years of age, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is spayed, has her claws and arrived microchipped from a time when she received loving care.

Scarlett came into SPCR underweight and matted. It was too risky to sedate her at the time, so we were relieved that Scarlett allowed the vet clinic to shave her while awake.   Scarlett is thrilled to be able to groom herself again as she is a fastidious lady.

Scarlett has several favorite things in this house.  One is to sit in the windowsill when the sun is shining with radiant warmth.  Another is her wool cave that has a pet-bed-heater inside and guarantees warmth 24×7.  Finally, is to track her favorite humans from room to room and to secure her place in a warm lap or on a warm chest when the humans sit or lay down.  She kneads as she settles in for as long the humans will hold still…purring to make her happiness known.

Scarlett is happy to eat Royal Canin for Long-Haired Cats dry food and has shown zero interest in canned food, Churu, and dry treats.  Due to her limited choice of calories, she will require this high-quality food going forward.  She cannot afford to lose weight.

Besides liking people, she gets along well with other, non-domineering cats.  A new home without dogs will be preferred or at least a point of discussion during an interview with potential adopters.  Due to Scarlett’s petite size and quiet personality, children need to be aged 12 or older.

Scarlett is enthusiastic in sharpening her claws on the sisal poles of the cat towers!  She also likes to sharpen her claws on the horizontal surface of Waterhog Rugs which are seemingly impervious to claws.

Like most Persians, her eyes are weepy and require daily cleaning which she doesn’t mind.  She also doesn’t mind getting combed and getting her toenails trimmed.
