Preach

PREACH is a 2 year old male RED AND WHITE PERSIAN. He is FeLV/FIV negative, up to date on shots, and neutered. He is also microchipped and has all of his claws.

He came into care when his owner could no longer care for him due to medical issues. He was very well loved in his previous home. Preach is very good about grooming and is fine with being brushed. He was also typically given lion cuts in his previous home by a groomer. He will need to be either brushed daily or shaved on occasion as his coat will mat if not. Additionally, he is a typical persian in that he has some eye drainage that needs to be wiped on a daily basis as well, but he is very tolerant of this.

Preach eats both dry and wet foods, but loves his wet food most and will come running when the can opens. He does well with his litterbox and is 100% with it. He is a very handsome and sweet boy who does love to play with wand toys most, but is not overly needy or energetic. He is a kitty who will want to sit next to you or check out what you are doing, but not a lap kitty at this time. He does let you carry him like a baby when you do pick him up.

Preach is rooming with other kitties and does fine with them with proper introductions. Cats will need to be respectful of his space as he enjoys their company, but is not overly energetic and does not seem to like to play roughly. He does fine with dogs too when properly introduced as long as the dog ignores him. Preach does well with children.

Preach is listed as having special needs as he has mitral valve dysplasia. He has had a cardiology visit and the echocardiogram has shown that he currently does not have a need for any medication at this time. He will need to be seen by a cardiologist yearly to monitor his heart.
