Piper

PIPER is a 9 lb, 8-year-old spayed female BROWN TABBY MAINE COON with all of her claws. She has been fully vetted and is ready to go to her forever home.

Piper is a timid but gentle natured lady. Once she is comfortable, she is an affectionate kitty on her own time. She came to SPCR when her owner could no longer care for her.

Piper is a mini Maine Coon.  She has all the traits of a Maine coon (face, chin, and ear tufts), but isn’t a huge cat. She is timid around a lot of noise and commotion, but when she feels confident, she shows her affection by crawling in your lap and asking for her head, ears and neck to be scratched.  She likes to sleep by your head and wake you up by jumping over you multiple times. She is a relatively quiet and calm cat but does enjoy playing with wand toys and cat nip laced kick toys.

In a new environment, Piper is shy and reserved. She’d do best in a quieter home with a stable routine. She is a picky eater, but does well on a quality kibble with healthy treats.  She has proper litter box manners.  She doesn’t like a lot of back area petting (loves the head area), she lets you know with a squawk and sometimes a gentle warning nip that she wants you to stop.

Piper would be fine as an only cat, but she is adaptable to other animals if they are not too energetic or playful.  She has been around dogs and other cats.  She would do best with a calm, gentle, respectful dog.  She enjoys the company of cats who are independent and not bullies.  She isn’t a fan of young children, but older, respectful kids  would be fine.
