NORMAN is an exceptionally striking one-and-a-half year old CHINCHILLA PERSIAN; he weighs eight pounds, is neutered and has his claws. Can you say WOW? Norman was surrendered by a family who could no longer care for him. This boy is simply a study in feline perfection. Some say the chinchilla Persian cat, with its snowy white coat and blue-green eyes is the most beautiful of all, and Norman’s foster family can’t disagree. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll just say this boy is purrfect.
Norman is listed as special needs because he has a history of urinary tract issues — since he’s been in rescue, we’ve treated him for severe bladder inflammation. He doesn’t have stones and has responded well to treatment including prescription food, but he’s at risk for flare ups going forward. He requires prescription food (both dry and wet) and close monitoring to make sure Norman (and his urinary tract) stay happy and healthy. Norman loves people and plays like the kitten he still is. He gets along well with other fur buds, but since he cannot eat regular cat food, Norm’s family will need to ensure he only has access to the food that will keep him healthy. We’ll give priority placement with a family experienced in urinary tract issues.
We think Norman would love older, respectful kids. We don’t know about dogs, but Norm is gentle and seems to be up for any adventure. He’s growing out of a lion cut and his previous family indicates this boy got professionally groomed a few times a year. Norman’s foster mom has been working on combing him and he’s tolerant, but doesn’t love it. Let’s face it, how many cats do? So we think that with patience, Norman can be taught grooming manners at home or he can be professionally groomed. Either way, this boy’s new family needs to be committed to keeping him mat-free. His eyes have typical Persian drainage and he’s great with daily cleaning.
Here’s the chance to give your heart to one of the world’s most beautiful cats. He won’t last long. Special Needs ADOPTION FEE $350. FOSTERED IN PEORIA, IL
