Norman
This Very Handsome kitty is NORMAN. He is a 7 month old DOMESTIC MEDIUM HAIR with beautiful green eyes and a shiny black coat, but has distinctive all white long ear tufts and just a little white fur on his chest! His coat is so silky soft to the touch and because he is a medium hair it requires little to no maintenance to keep it that way. He is neutered, up to date on all kitty vaccinations (distemper and rabies), tested negative for FIV/ FeLV, dewormed, microchipped, 100% litter box trained, eats both wet and dry food and has his claws.
This little guy is a combination of sweet, timid, playful, curious and quiet. He loves other cats and kitties and always hopes they like him back too so they may might want to play along with him. But he’s respectful of those that don’t. As a kitten of course he loves to play, especially with wand toys with his foster mom that’s his favorite activity! But he will also play with all sorts of cat toys on his own. On the last snowfall, when we had the big flakes that he could see coming down, he thought that he might like to catch one of them so he would touch the window with his paw hoping he could. So his foster mom brought in a little snow for him, but that wasn’t quite as interesting. He does like climbing on cat trees not only to play on, but also to catch a long nap in the sun on. He does like to explore but is still wary in uncharted territory.
Norman came into the rescue as a timid kitty that had little interaction with people, so it has taken time for him to gain some confidence and learn to trust . But as you can see by his videos, he has! He now comes to greet his foster mom when she comes in to his foster room and will talk to her and rub his cheeks against her legs and reach up with a paw to get her attention. He also will come up and sit next to her or she next to him and he likes to be pet and receive belly rubs. He will often sleep on the bed at night with her.
Norman is still a young kitten and he’s still learning about life. As mentioned above, so far he thinks all other cats and kittens are his friend! We know he can learn a lot from them about life too, so a home that already has a people friendly, easy going kitty or young cat in the home is a must. He hasn’t been around a dog, but given a slow introduction, he should be ok with a kitten friendly dog. Because he is still gaining confidence but still timid in unfamiliar spaces, a noisy, busy home would be too much for him. He would do best in a quiet, stable home environment with someone home with him most of the day. He has not been around children, but should be ok with older, respectful kids (14yrs old or older) that have grown up with kittens.
Norman is a wonderful little kitty that is looking for an adopter that understands that there are a lot of new things to be discovered in life yet for him and its important that he knows that he will always be safe and loved.
