Lupin

LUPIN is a very handsome 4.5 year old BROWN TABBY MAINE COON MIX. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, FIV/FeLV negative, has his claws and is microchipped. He weighs 20 lbs, and the vet said he could benefit from losing a few pounds.

Lupin’s original owner passed away, and he was adopted by her hospice nurse who loved him very much. Unfortunately, Lupin did not feel the same way about her current cat. So after many months of trying, she made the tough decision to have SPCR help find him a loving home where he can be the king of the house!  And with a cat this nice (and big)…who needs another pet anyway??

Lupin will take a little while to settle into his new home, so a patient adopter is a must. Once he settles in then he is a loving boy who enjoys being around how owners, being petted and brushed. His favorite activities are playing with wand toys, and looking out the window at the birds and other creatures.  He is not a lap cat, but will sit on the couch next to his foster parents.

Lupin would do best in a home with no other cats or dogs. He would also do best with older children (teenagers). He loves to be around people, so someone who is home a lot would be preferred.  Lupin had a UTI a few years ago, and has been on prescription Hills Science Diet CD food (which he will come with an almost full bag of) ever since. This is why he is listed as special needs. He loves the food, and has had no problems since starting on the food. He is 100% with his litter box (a bigger litter box is a must due to his size). He has his claws, but uses his scratching pad appropriately (which will go with him to his new home).
