Julius
JULIUS is a Bicolor, Red and White PERSIAN who conforms to his breed beautifully. He has a dense, cottony coat, flat face, and gazing copper eyes. He is a 9.6lb sweet boy who is easily pleased and speaks softly. As he had his 8th birthday recently (June 5th), Julius received a dental along with his vaccinations. He tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is neutered, has his claws and is microchipped in preparation for a new, loving home.
Prior to being professionally groomed, we discovered Julius absolutely loves to be brushed! Julius stretches out his front legs, bares his chest, rolls to expose his belly, and barely takes breaks to circle back for more. He purrs and purrs and nudges against you for more petting and brushing. His whiskers grow in curls directly back at his own face. This means that an adopter must keep his whiskers cut short as they otherwise poke him in the eyes causing irritation. While Julius had conditioned himself to keep his eyes squinted to block his whiskers, he now opens his eyes most often. His love of being brushed provides a wonderful bonding experience and makes it quite easy to maintain his fur at home.
Julius is very affectionate and likes to have access to humans. He follows us for pets, lays beside our leg on the sofa or at our feet, and blesses us with his deep purrs. He is also -the Best- sleeping companion as he lays beside my hip while I’m awake and then moves to the foot of the bed or under the bed for the remainder of the night. During the day, he is heat-seeking by following the sun pouring through windows and watching the birds in the nearby trees. He has become quite entertaining to watch as he runs through the house and slides across the floor by jumping on a small rug. Julius loves to bunny kick catnip toys and a variety of other toys he can bat around.
Julius is afraid of loud noises. This means he does not wish to live with children under age 12 nor with barking dogs. Julius was at first reluctant to meet new kitties, but has since grown to enjoy interacting with them and has done well with a variety of personalities. Julius doesn’t need a big home, just a big hearted human to love. Preference will be given to an adopter whose home best enables Julius to enjoy life with humans and without fear.
