Harvey

HARVEY (the Hospice Kitty) is a CHOCOLATE POINT & CREAM RAGDOLL with blue eyes. He is 13 years old, and a very sweet and gentle little cat. He is neutered, has all of his claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, dewormed and microchipped. He weighs a little over 9 lbs.

Harvey was surrendered to our organization because the owner’s two young dogs were bullying this gentle little lamb. We also found out that Harvey apparently hadn’t received any vetting in years, so when his foster mom took him in for a senior wellness checkup, it was revealed that he has dental disease, is missing several teeth, and that he also has a heart murmur and potentially suffers from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) which makes a dental procedure a high risk for him.

Despite these findings, his foster mom thinks that this little man is the cat’s meow. When she enters his foster room and calls his name, he comes running for some pets and loving. He enjoys being gently brushed and allows himself to be picked up and carried around (not too long though). He will even sit on her lap for a short while when she is watching her favorite Netflix shows. Harvey apparently has lived with other cats, so if you have a mild mannered, non domineering kitty, and use slow and proper introductions, he should be fine. We do not want to place him in a home with dogs, no matter how gentle the dog(s) might be.

Harvey is great with using his litter box. His foster mom is a firm believer in feeding kitties wet food to assure proper hydration and a soft and silky fur. Harvey loves his wet food and since he has dental issues, we are requesting a home where he will continue to receive wet food since that is easier for him to eat and digest.

We know it takes a special person that wants to open their home and heart to a special needs kitty, but we also know that such kind people exist. If you think you can provide this sweet little cat a comfortable home where he can live out the rest of his life without being bullied, harassed or neglected, we would love to hear from you.
