Guiness & Murphy
GUINESS and MURPHY are stunning GOLDEN SHADED BRITISH LONGHAIRS. They are nine months old, neutered and have their claws. These lambs were born to British Shorthair parents and have been in foster care (along with other littermates) for about ten weeks while getting up to date on vetting.
The British Longhair breed is now recognized by The International Cat Association – a variant of British Shorthairs. All we can say is WOW. What gorgeous cats! These bunnies both wear luxurious medium-length, black-tipped golden coats with the softest fur imaginable. Their long tails are nothing short of stunning, and the kittens carry them around like proud high-flying flags. True to their breed, Guinness and Murphy have large almond-shaped, wide-set emerald eyes, giving them sweet beanie baby expressions.
Not only do these boys look sweet, but they ARE sweet with even, calm dispositions. The boys are a bit on the shy side but are warming up in rescue and learning that humans are sources of food, affection and fun. Murphy is the friendlier of the two and LOVES to be petted, but Guinness isn’t far behind. We expect that they will take a bit time to adjust to their new home(s), but within a short time the boys will no doubt be active, loving members of the family.
These sweethearts do not have to go home together, but they love the company of other cats, and we hope to place them together, with another member of their litter, or in homes that already have other felines. Being this gorgeous doesn’t come without work, however, and these lambs will need regular grooming to stay mat free. The boys were shaved when they came into rescue and are growing out now – so, they’ll need to be combed weekly at home or professionally groomed regularly.
Both boys are very food motivated and love the wet food that they get twice daily. Meals are seriously the highlight of their day, and they are asking to go to a home where they can continue to get wet food. As mentioned earlier, resident cats are a plus, and we think older, respectful kids would be just fine. With proper introductions, we think they’d likely do fine with an older, calm dog.
