Gizmo
GIZMO is an adorable ORANGE AND WHITE EXOTIC SHORTHAIR with copper eyes. He is 5 years old, neutered, has his claws, is up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighs around 10 lbs.
Gizmo was surrendered to SPCR after his owner came to the sad realization that their home environment was too stressful for him because of their dog. They asked if our organization could help find him a calmer environment without any dogs (now or in the future) and of course we said yes.
Gizmo has a pretty typical Exotic Shorthair personality. He is sweet, easy going, low energy and very well behaved. His foster mom has truly fallen in love with this precious little lamb. When she comes to check on him, she often finds him hanging out on the sofa. As soon as she approaches him, he starts to purr and then he rolls over on his side so his foster mom can rub his little belly. It is truly very therapeutic and makes his foster mom want to purr in unison with him – LOL.
Gizmo seems to be unperturbed by the company of other cats that are similar in style, so a fur buddy around his own age who is also pretty laid back should be fine for him. He would also do well as a single kitty where he can soak up some undivided love and attention from his human(s).
As stated above, dogs, no matter how cat friendly, would stress him out, and so would loud noises, lots of activities with people coming and going, and small children. Older children who love a snuggle cat would be fine for him.
His eyes get a bit weepy, so a quick daily cleaning is recommended and tolerated by him. Gizmo eats predominantly dry food but his foster mom has added a little wet to his diet to assure proper hydration. He is using his litter box appropriately.
