Ginger
GINGER is a precious ORANGE AND WHITE PERSIAN with big copper eyes. She is 4 years old, spayed, front-paw declawed, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped. She weighs around 9 lbs.
Ginger was surrendered to SPCR after her owner came to realize that a home with a young child who has lots of friends coming and going, and a barking dog was just too much for this little fluffy lady. They clearly loved her, so with a heavy heart they surrendered Ginger to our organization asking us to find a calmer, more suitable home for her.
Ginger has a typical Persian personality. She is very sweet, loving, trusting, easy going, and very well behaved. As soon as her foster mom enters the room, she starts coming up to her purring and wanting some attention. She enjoys being around people, sitting next to them, and she loves being brushed. She gets excited when her foster mom interacts with her by swishing the mink wand toy around for her to catch, and she becomes almost kitten-like when she bats around spring toys.
She doesn’t seem to be bothered by other cats and should be okay with a similar calm breed, but we would not recommend a home with multiple kitties for her. She would also be just fine as a single kitty where she can soak up some undivided love and attention from her human(s).
This little cutie would do best in an adult only and quiet home, and since she is declawed, she would do best in a home without any dogs. However, a very calm, older dog who would ignore her would be fine, but a young, barking and energetic dog would not work for her.
Her coat doesn’t seem to be too prone to matting, but a daily brushing (which she enjoys) is recommended. Her eyes get a bit weepy, so a daily cleaning is definitely recommended and tolerated by her.
Ginger enjoys both wet and dry food, and has excellent litter box habits.
