Elsbet

ELSBET is a 4 year old GRAY SCOTTISH FOLD with the prettiest, biggest, round gold eyes, and is a bigger structured girl, weighing 9 lbs. She is spayed, up to date with rabies and distemper vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, tested negative for felv/fiv, and has her claws. She has been xrayed and also been tested by UC Davis for osteochondrodysplasia (SFOCD). The Scottish Fold breed of cat has a genetic mutation that affects the development of cartilage. The most obvious outward manifestation of this is making the ear cartilage fold so the ears bend forward, giving the cat its characteristic appearance.  Affected cats show signs of lameness, reluctance to jump, stiff, and stilted gait. She has no signs of these, and passed the UC Davis test with flying colors. The adopter will be given a copy of these results.

This little beauty landed in a Chicago shelter, and they called us, because they knew she was someone special. She’s a quiet girl, who likes to follow you around, and see what you’re up. She isn’t a lap kitty, but she likes petting, nose rubbings, head scratchings, and sleeping on our bed at night, or on a cat tree nearby. She can turn on the charm, but also can be independent and show catitude by saying, Nope, I don’t want petting now.

Someone, in the past, was rough with brushing/combing, so she only likes grooming in small increments. If you hit a snag, she’s done, and leaves. She’s not real energetic, and just starting to learn what wand and fluttering butterfly toys are, but she is adventurous, curious and loves to explore, climb cat trees, and watch the birds out of the window. If you have a pocket door, she is learning how to open it. Lol

We don’t know how she would be with dogs, because we don’t have one, but should be okay with cat friendly, respectful dogs. She gets along with other calm, not in your face, dominant cats.
