Dahlquist
Hi, my name is DAHLQUIST, but my friends call me DQ. I am a two year old LILAC POINT RAGDOLL. I have all the standard vetting done including being neutered, up to date on shots, and FIV/FELV negative.
You may be wondering, “How did you get a name like Dahlquist?” Well, I was found in a storm drain at Dahlquist Park so when they asked me my name, I went with Dahlquist! As you can imagine, my time in a storm drain was pretty traumatic, but I try not to let it bring me down.
Despite my history, I am a real love; I know what it’s like to have a family and I love it! The second my foster family comes into my room, I am running towards them. When they aren’t around, I keep myself occupied with toys…I really like to play!
Like other male cats, I am prone to urinary problems and had Cystitis with my foster family. Due to this, I am on prescription food and I should be on prescription food for the rest of my life as a precaution. To help with my stress, I am also on anxiety medication that I take once a day; I am pretty used to it by now!
As you can guess, I am just a little sensitive and can get stressed out. To avoid any high stressful situations, I would prefer a home with no young kids and no dogs. I haven’t really talked to other cats in my foster home, but I’m sure if they are calm I could get along with them.
I know I sound like I have a lot of preferences, but I really just want a nice, calm home full of love. With a calm environment, my prescription food, and anxiety medicine, I really think I could thrive! I’ve come a long ways since my storm drain days and if you are willing to give me patience and peace, I can show you all the love I have to offer.
