Chu

CHU is an beautiful, compact, CHARCOAL MINK BENGAL with a low maintenance coat and the most exotic, expressive eyes. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, has claws, and weighs approximately 10 lbs.

Chu came to SPCR because another cat in her household was bullying her. As a result, or perhaps because of her true nature, Chu is shy, timid, and independent–especially with new people. Once she gets to know you she adores being petted and will meow a loud hello, arch her back happily when her face is scratched, and collapse into a purring heap! She will also play once she lets her guard down, and has an adorable little pounce maneuver when she hears a scratchy-scratch sound under the rug. She tolerates being held, but wiggles away as quickly as she can.

Although she has been gradually allowed full run of her foster home, Chu prefers to relax in her laundry room “suite,” resting on a blanket perched atop a tall cabinet. If she does venture out, she highly disapproves of any attention from the curious resident cat and dog (despite slow introductions).  She expresses her displeasure and retreats to her perch. For these reasons, and because of her history, Chu would do best in a quiet home with no other cats or dogs. She would be an excellent match for someone willing to be patient with her and develop a trusting, respectful relationship. She eats wet or dry food and uses her litterbox with no issues.
