Carmilla

CARMILLA is a confident, blue-eyed, CREAM ORIENTAL SHORTHAIR.  She is 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative, vaccinated, has her claws, and weighs about 9 lbs.

Carmilla is quite a character (from “The Littlest Pet Shop” cartoon).  She is full of energy and loves to play with crinkle balls, jingle balls, and felt mice.  She also loves to wrestle and play leap frog with her roommate and play fetch with her toys.  On her hierarchy of needs are: human interaction, food, and playtime.  Carmilla can be quite chatty when her needs are not being met, but can quickly quiet down when a human provides a lap of comfort.

Carmilla came from a breeder in a difficult situation such that she has some scarring in her eye now, but it does not hinder her ability to see in any way. Carmilla is a happy girl who wants to live in a home where she can enjoy a lot of access to humans…she likes to walk through every open door to explore every nook and cranny of rooms.  She likes to follow her humans to keep a watchful eye on everyone’s activities.  Most of all is that she likes to be petted and sit in a warm lap.  She generally sits side-saddle, propped up on her human’s hip on the sofa.  She also likes to get face-to-face when she hasn’t been getting enough attention before settling-in for some petting and contentment.  When a human isn’t available, Carmilla enjoys sleeping on a heated pet bed.

Carmilla uses both sisal scratching posts on the tower and a vertical cardboard scratching pad.  She enjoys climbing up the tower and across a ledge to look at the birds and bugs out the windows.   Carmilla readily meets and gets along well with new feline companions. She isn’t the shy and retiring kitty rather she tends to be the curious and confident one to stick her nose in someone else’s fur.

It isn’t known whether she has ever met a dog, but believed she would do well with respectful children.  She enjoys both wet and dry food.  Most importantly, an adopter needs to understand that Carmilla’s level of activity will require a lot of playtime and patience for her inquisitive nature to explore everything in her environment.
