Athena

ATHENA is a SNOWSHOE SIAMESE with lovely blue eyes and an adorable little face. She is 5 years old, spayed, has all her claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, dewormed and microchipped. She weighs 7 lbs.

Athena was very much loved by her family, but one of the family members became severely allergic to her so they contacted SPCR to take her into foster care.

Athena is a confident little cat who enjoys being around her humans. When she hears her foster mom entering the foster room, she comes and greets her with little chirps. She can be a little bit chatty at times, which is cute when you enjoy having conversations with your pet. When her foster mom sits on the bed with her, Athena comes over for some pets, and when she’s done, she likes to snuggle close by.

Athena likes being petted around her head and back, but her foster mom has noticed that Athena has some spots towards her butt that she doesn’t care to have touched. When that happens, she can become a bit spicy so you want to learn her cues. Sadly a child once grabbed and dragged Athena by her tail, which is most likely the reason for her being sensitive in that area.

Athena does not care for other cats. After she had a litter of kittens, she made it pretty clear that going forward she does not care for other felines. We were told she also doesn’t care for dogs, and since her foster parents don’t have dogs to test her with, we will just take her previous owner’s word for it and recommend she remains an only pet.

Athena would do best in an adult home. However, cat savvy teenagers who understand a cat’s body language and who would enjoy engaging in some play time with this little gem should be fine.

Her previous home fed her a wet food only diet, so her foster mom has kept her on it and we would hope her future home will continue providing it for her as well. She uses her litter box perfectly.
