Amiya

AMIYA is unexpectedly, still available as her previous potential adopter is able to adopt a bonded pair instead. Amiya has never met a stranger as she enjoys meeting other cats with whom to play or snuggle.

AMIYA is a beautiful ORIENTAL SHORTHAIR who is pure white, a rare color for her breed.  She is 1 year old, spayed, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative, vaccinated, has her claws, and weighs about 8 lbs.  When her pupils are dilated, her eyes appear blue.  When not dilated, her eyes appear grayish green.  She has a very dainty face, is tall, lean and leggy.  She moves with grace as she trots across the room, as she leaps to catch DaBird, and as she prances while carrying a felt mouse.

Amiya came to SPCR from a breeder in a difficult situation who gave up all of her cats.  Amiya is able to entertain herself with toys as well to play with cats of all breeds!  She is high energy and great fun to watch and to play with.  She is affectionate with being petted, doesn’t mind being picked up, and will sometimes slow down to sit beside you. She enjoys sharing body heat and sleeping on a heated pet bed.  She uses sisal scratching posts on her tower, vertical cardboard pads, and she enjoys climbing up to the window sills and ledge to watch everything outside.

Amiya will talk when she is particularly wanting food or human attention. A home without dogs is preferred. Amiya wouldn’t mind respectful children over 12 years of age, especially if they will use toy wands to play with her. She enjoys both wet and dry food as well as Churu treats.  Most importantly, an adopter needs to understand Amiya’s level of activity is higher than most cats and humans need patience for her inquisitive nature to explore everything in any given room.
