Chianti

CHIANTI is a TORBIE AMERICAN CURL with stunning blue-green eyes!  She is about 2 years old and 10 lbs. in weight.  Chianti is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is spayed, has her claws and has been microchipped in preparation for a new, loving home.  Her ears are curled back and as easy to clean as cats whose ears are straight.  We do not receive many of this breed in rescue.

Chianti was transferred to SPCR from an animal shelter where it seems she was likely surrendered by her previous owner.  Chianti is well socialized, gets along with other cats, and is familiar with the comforts of a home.  She comes when called and is affectionate to both foster parents.  That said, she does like to groom the foster Dad indicating she has had positive male interactions in her past.  She has recently started showing interest to become a lap cat.  She enjoys using the square hammock on the cat tree and appropriately uses the sisal poles for scratching her claws.  She also uses the cardboard scratchers that are horizontal and has never scratched on furniture.

Chianti has become super playful.  She loves humans interacting with wand toys and she bats around a few balls and crinkly toys on the floor.  She also enjoys some catnip filled toys.

Chianti bumps against your hand to ask to be petted and have her chin rubbed.  Her fur is short and sleek such that it doesn’t require much grooming, but she does enjoy the attention.  She also doesn’t mind having her toenails trimmed.

Chianti is sociable with people and is open to other cats as well.  Her exposure to dogs isn’t known, but it seems she would do okay with a laid-back dog.  It appears that she would do well with children who are respectful such that children aged 10+ are more likely to understand.
