Meirou and Amaya

MEIROU and AMAYA are 6.5 month old LONGHAIR ORIENTAL sisters. Meirou is blue with green eyes, and Amaya is a Chocolate Tortoiseshell with green eyes. Meirou’s fur is all a light steel gray, and Amaya’s fur is a blend of cream, orange and light/dark brown. They’re beautiful girls who sport fancy long tails and fringy, furry butts. Both girls have had rabies and distemper vaccines, microchip, dewormed, tested FIV/FELV negative, spayed, and have their claws.

These two girls came into SPCR very undersocialized, especially Meirou. There are Orientals, and then there are sensitive Orientals, like these two girls. Strange noises and people, and fast movement scare them. But on the flipside, these girls are utterly delightful! They love playing with wand toys, lasers, da rat, springs, small balls, zooming thru tunnels and chasing/running around the house. They love spending time in cat trees, looking out the window or following you around to see what you’re up to. (They’re always close by, because they are Orientals afterall. Lol ) Nothing is too high or out of reach. They sleep on the fosterparent’s bed at night, cuddling close to us. Amaya lays on people’s laps, Meirou close by. They don’t like if your hand goes in front of their face, because of past scruffing, but are getting much better about it. They both love petting and shoulder rubs, and you can pick up both of them. They are busy girls, love to help with chores, and be involved. Neither girl is exceptionally talkative, but do like to have conversations once in a awhile. They are usually together, and up to something. Lol

Fostercats get to a point where you know it’s time for them to find their forever home and settle in. The girls are at that point. Yes, they’ll be scared, and yes they’ll do terrible when their adoptive family comes to meet them, but Orientals are a sensitive breed. They wrote the book on not liking change.

It will be important in their forever home to have someone that is home most of the day, and maybe have a cat that is easy going, and mothering type, but they would be fine as the only two in the house also. They came from a large cat home, so when they first came here, they only knew large numbers and took comfort in older, easy going cats. They’re older now, and are used to a lot less numbers, and are okay with just the two of them.

No families with children or dogs will be considered. Anyone applying will have to have experience with Oriental/Siamese or Aby breeds, and the girls are listed as special needs, because the adopter will have to realize that these two girls will require patience to get them to trust and love you.
