Chianti

CHIANTI is a TORBIE AMERICAN CURL with stunning blue-green eyes!  She is about 2 years old and 10 lbs. in weight.  Chianti is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is spayed, has her claws and has been microchipped in preparation for a new, loving home.

Chianti was surrendered to SPCR from an animal shelter accompanied by her litter of kittens.  If food is a show of love, then Chianti was loved at some point because she recognized the sound of a can of food being opened for her.  She will eat some dry food between meals but primarily eats Wellness canned food.  In turn, Chianti was able to produce enough milk to give her kittens a great start in life.  All of them benefitted from many feedings per day of homemade meals and canned food.  Chianti has taught her kittens well and is ready to move to a new life with a new family.

As her kittens have grown, Chianti has become super playful!  She loves to play with wand toys and catnip as well.  If no toys are in play, then a kitten might become the next best thing!  Chianti is interactive with humans and comes when called.  She likes to be petted, but not excessively.  She enjoys being combed although her fur is so short and sleek that it requires little care.  She also doesn’t mind having her toenails trimmed and uses the cat towers and cardboard scratchers.

Chianti is sociable with people and is open to other cats as well.  Her exposure to dogs isn’t known, but it seems she would do okay with a laid-back dog.  It also appears that she would do well with children who are experienced to read cats’ body language since she can get over stimulated.  Children aged 10+ are more likely to understand.
