Beckett
BECKETT is a handsome but shy 9 month old DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR with 2 tone orange and white fur, with gold/green eyes, and weighs 10 lbs. He is up to date on distemper and rabies vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, fiv/felv negative, neutered and have his claws. He eats wet and dry food, and freeze dried chicken for a nightly treat. He is 100% with the litterbox.
Mr Beckett is a quirky and goofy guy, who is full of mrrps and trills. When his fostermom is sitting, he’ll jump up on her lap to her shoulder, and while she holds him, he’ll go completely around her upper body until he settles himself back on her right shoulder or cradling him like a baby. When fostermom sits on the floor, he’s right there with her, for lap time, scritches and petting. He likes being picked up and cuddled, but not a fan of walking while being held. He sleeps on our bed at night and is always nearby during the day, to see what we’re up too. He has gotten over the kitten zoomies, but does like to chase, run, and wrestle with our Oriental or his “brothers” in the morning after his nap, and before going to bed at night. He likes playing with plastic springs and small toys, wand toys, ping pong balls in the tub and bouncing them across the basement floor, spending time in a play center, tunnels, and loves cat trees so he can watch the wildlife and take a nap.
He came into SPCR in pretty sorry shape. Someone was very mean to him, which caused a broken leg and large hernia. Everything now is as good as new, but we think it has affected him. Because of this, he is socially challenged, and will not come to the door to meet and greet everyone that visits. When he was at the vet, he did very well and all the staff liked him, but when an adopter comes to meet him, he is guaranteed to show poorly, and will likely want to run. But if someone will give him a chance, and go slow, he will be the most devoted and loving boy! Like my hubby says, someone will be getting an awfully nice kitty!
He will need to go to a family that has a young cat/older kitten, that he can hang out with. He has grown up with Cade and Gavin, who are also on the website, and gets along very well with both, incase you want a pair of older kittens.
If you have patience and can go slow, this guy will reward you in the end.
