Atticus

ATTICUS is a WHITE TURKISH ANGORA with amber eyes. He is 5 years old, has his claws, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative, and microchipped. This handsome boy weighs a little over 13 lbs.

Atticus came into rescue after his owners realized that their very busy work schedule did not work out well for this human connected and very sweet boy. They asked our rescue to help find him a home where someone is home a lot and can give him the love, affection and interaction he needs and deserves.

His foster mom has quickly fallen in love with this regal and strapping boy. He is just the right amount of confident and comfortable in a new situation, and it is such a pleasure to see him strut around as if he’s lived here for quite some time. When he wants to be around people, he can be a bit vocal about it, so it’s best not to ignore him…just saying. If vocalization gets on your nerves, he may not be the right kitty for you.

Atticus loves it when his foster mom gives him the full on body massage which will typically involve him rolling over to get his belly rubbed too. When it’s time to engage in some play time, he enjoys it when his foster mom floats DaBird around for him to catch. He shows off his hunting prowess by jumping up in the air to catch whatever is floating around. When he is done with that, he typically likes to hang out on the tall cat tree and observe what is going on around him. He can also entertain himself by looking out of windows to study the great outdoors.

As far as cat compatibility is concerned, Atticus seems to be interested in other kitties, though that interest is not necessarily reciprocated by other felines. He has met his foster parent’s own cats and is tolerated by one of their male cats, but older, docile, or small kitties seem to be intimidated by this strapping, confident and pretty much in your face cat. He might be okay with another cat of similar size, confidence, age, and breed with proper introductions, but he would also do well as a single kitty where he can get undivided love and attention from his human(s).

Although his foster parents don’t have dogs, he might actually enjoy the company of a dog who is known to do well with a feline companion. He should be fine with children.

Atticus needed extensive dental work, which our organization took care of. He is a healthy boy who uses his litter box perfectly.

Atticus eats both wet and dry food, but due to his lack of teeth the dry kibble should be very small for easier digestion. Ideally a wet food only diet would be most appropriate for him.
