Mango
MANGO is a DILUTE CALICO SIAMESE MIX with lovely light blue eyes. She is 3 years old, spayed, front-paw declawed, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, dewormed and microchipped. She weighs 7 lbs.
Mango found herself in a shelter after her owner passed away. The shelter contacted SPCR so we could take her into foster care.
Mango is a lovely little cat with soft and pretty markings on her sweet face and lithe body. Initially she might start out a bit shy, skittish and reserved, but she definitely likes being around people. When Mango sees or hears her foster mom, she often comes to greet her by running over for some gentle pets and sometimes she likes to swirl around her foster mom’s legs.
When her foster mom sits down to watch a movie, Mango likes to snuggle on her lap for companionship and warmth and will usually sit there for quite some time. She enjoys being softly petted for a bit, but she is not a cat that should be touched over and over again. When she’s had enough, she can become a bit overstimulated and might reward the offensive hand with a nip, so her future guardians want to be aware of this and respect her boundaries. It is not uncommon to witness this type of behavior with declawed cats, which is why we can’t recommend a home with children who wouldn’t understand her cues.
Mango enjoys chasing laser beams around the house and she also likes to jump up high in the air to catch DaBird in mid-flight. A window spot where she can gaze out and enjoy watching what is going on outside, or a nice cat tree will be much appreciated by this sweet doll. Other than that, she is a quiet, low key and non-intrusive little lady cat who will delight her future parent(s) with her grace and gentle beauty. At times she has a bit of a prancing gait when she runs around, which is endearing to watch.
Mango has met one of her foster mom’s docile senior male cats without any issues. He likes the feline ladies, gives her space, and therefore doesn’t bother her, so a very laid back older male cat in her future home should be okay for her. However, Mango’s foster mom believes that she wouldn’t mind at all being an only cat. Since she is declawed, which leaves her somewhat defenseless, her foster mom feels that she would do better in a home that doesn’t have any dogs. Older (over 14 years), respectful and not too loud children who can engage in some play time with her should be fine.
She uses her litter box perfectly.
