Henry
HENRY is a BUFF EXOTIC SHORTHAIR with copper eyes. He is 12 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative, and microchipped. This little chap weighs close to 10 lbs.
Henry was dropped off at a shelter because presumably his previous owners didn’t have the time to care for him any longer. Not surprising, the shelter had to shave off a good chunk of fur on his back so he currently does sport quite a large bald spot; please don’t hold that against him as it will grow out again. When the shelter contacted SPCR and showed us a picture of this poor little lad, we just couldn’t pass on him so off into foster care he went.
Henry’s foster mom has quickly fallen in love with this adorable, goofy little clown. What’s not to love about a sweet squishy face with big eyes that looks trustingly up to a person while happily enjoying some soft head rubs? He comes running as soon as he sees his foster mom or when she calls him, and he makes these funny little sounds as if to indicate that he knows exactly what his foster mom is talking about when she greets him.
Despite his age, Henry is full of youthful energy and zest for life. When it comes time to play with toys like Da Bird or anything else that is attached to a stick, flies through the air and has some feathers attached to it, Henry is up to the challenge to catch his “prey”. His foster mom totally cracks up when he catches one of those objects and then just doesn’t want to let go…”hey, look at what I caught” he seems to say. The noises he makes are adorable…ferocious little fella that he thinks he is.
When his foster mom watches a Netflix show, she will sometimes scoop him up and deposit him on her lap for some extra warmth, and that’s where he happily cuddles for most of the show. Unless, of course, there is something else going on that must be explored. His foster mom is hoping to find a caring human who also enjoys having the warm body of a soft little kitty acting as the occasional leg warmer.
Henry does well with other mild mannered kitties, and is just a wonderful, engaging and curious little cat to have around. He came into rescue with a tiny 5# female Exotic Shorthair who he is happily cohabitating with.
His foster parents don’t have any dogs, but assume an older, chill and cat friendly dog would be okay. We haven’t tested him with children either, but because he is such an easy going little cat, cat savvy children should be okay for him as well.
Henry eats both wet and dry food, with a preference for wet food which is good for him because it provides proper hydration, so we would like to find him a home that will continue to offer it. He had a senior blood panel and urinalysis done which shows him currently a healthy chap and he also had a very recent dental cleaning. He is using his litter box perfectly.
ADOPTION FEE $50. FOSTERED IN MEQUON, WI.
