Dakota

DAKOTA is a gentle BROWN TABBY DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR. She’s seven years old, spayed, and has claws. What a sweet, beautiful bunny! She’s a small, slender girl at just 7 pounds.

We don’t know much about Dakota’s past – only that she was surrendered by her owner to an Illinois shelter. So, we assume her owner could not care for her because this girl would be a wonderful addition to any home. At the shelter, Dakota was stressed and not eating, so they contacted us to get her into rescue. At her foster home, Dakota is doing just fine. She was slow to warm up but is now madly in love with her foster dad, who cares for her.

Dakota is a gorgeous brown tabby with an easy-care coat, sparkling emerald eyes, and the sweetest brick-leather nose we’ve seen. This sweetheart is rooming alone in foster care, but given proper introductions, we think she’d get along just fine with one or two other fur buds who wouldn’t dominate her. There are other gentle cats in Dakota’s suite and she can see them through baby gates without incident. Loud dogs would definitely be too much for her, as would very small human tikes. We think older, respectful kids would be great.

Dakota had a dental to remove a broken canine tooth and polish up her ivorys. Otherwise, our vet gave her a totally clean bill of health. Like all SPCR kits, Dakota is up to date on appropriate vaccinations.

In our opinion, Dakota has super snug potential, and we believe in time, she could be an extraordinary lap cat. She simply loves to be petted and will stop, drop and roll for tummy rubs from her foster family. This lamb remains a dainty eater but loves her wet food and wants to go to a home where she can continue having it.

She’ll need a quieter home and a family with patience to let her get comfortable and blossom in her own time, but watch out! Before you know it, this little doll will steal your heart. We know because it happened to us!
