COOKIE is a wonderfully sweet CREAM AND WHITE DOMESTIC MEDIUM HAIR. He’s estimated to be 10 years old, is neutered and has his claws.

Cookie is the kind of cat every family dreams of rescuing. He’s super friendly, loving and bonds with everyone in his tribe – be they cat or human. This handsome lad was the pride and joy of an elderly woman who passed away a few years ago. So, another kind lady took Cookie in, and he lived with her and many other cats until her unexpected death a few months ago.

Cookie has been in rescue now for about six months and is rooming with another buddy, Hector, who is also available for adoption through SPCR. (Be sure to watch Cookie’s video; Héctor makes a cameo appearance!) Cookie, a.k.a. The Cookster or Cookie Monster, is among the sweetest cats his foster mom and dad have encountered. He’s been a perfect house guest – gratefully eating whatever is served, purring away while being brushed, using the scratching post, and being meticulous with litterbox habits.

Cookie had a senior blood panel done when he came into rescue and the results were great. However, this sweet boy suffers from stomatitis – an oral inflammation of the soft tissues of the mouth. There is no cure for stomatitis, but medical treatments are aimed at managing pain and symptoms. Cookie recently had a dental with several extractions (a common veterinary treatment for feline stomatitis). He’s on a low-dose steroid for maintenance and doing great. He gets a small pill crumbled in a lickable treat every-other-day.

Other than his medicine (which costs less than $5/month), Cookie’s foster family brushes him and washes his mouth with a warm washcloth daily. That’s it! Cookie loves to eat and is asking to go to a home that will let him have canned food and lickable treats like Churus or Friskies Lil’ Soups every day. He also eats kibble daily. Cookie will need to visit the vet every 6 months as opposed to annually to follow up on his stomatitis. His condition is definitely manageable with minimal effort. And this sweetheart is so worth it!

Cookie would fit in almost any home beautifully. He loves people, kids and other cats. He’s not exposed to dogs in rescue, but our guess is that Cookie would love them, too. Please look in your heart and consider opening your home to this tiny angel. He’s a sweet lap warmer who lost his home twice in the past few years and is now ready to finally go home furever. He’s waiting by the phone.
