The Big Lebowski
The Big Lebowski (aka The Dude) is a Very Loving and Happy Go Lucky, BLACK AND WHITE BICOLOR DOMESTIC LONGHAIR. He is about 3 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, has his claws and is a big boy, currently weighing in at 12 pounds with mesmerizing green eyes!
This boy just rolls with whatever life throws at him. He was found by a kind person, who took him to a city animal shelter. He eventually found his way to his foster family with SPCR. He had a large wound on his left ear that needed attention. And he must have had a run-in with Burdock plants as he had lots of burrs entangled in his long fur causing nasty mats. His ear has been tended to and has healed nicely! His coat was shaved down to a hip Mohawk cut to remove all the mats and burrs and is growing back in soft and silky. Interestingly, when his fur was shaved down, it revealed marbled-looking skin underneath, which you can see in a couple of his pictures. Though it all, he’s been the best boy❣️
He’s outgoing, loves to be pet, purr, get belly rubs and give lots of head bumps. He will carry on a conversation with you, not with meows but with short trills. He saves his meows for when he really wants to make a point. He’s fine with being picked up and held. He uses his scratching posts/boxes and uses his litter box 100%. We know that in the movie The Big Lebowski, bowling is the main pastime. Although this Dude doesn’t actually bowl, he does like to play with balls and enthusiastically bats them about! And he loves watching the chipmunks and birds outside his windows with great interest too. The other thing The Dude from the movie is known for is drinking White Russians……. Of course this Dude is NOT allowed to drink White Russians. But he is given a treat every now and then, that is his version of a White Russian- the CatSip lactose free milk product!
But not everything in this boy’s life has turned out OK like in the movie…….. During his wellness visit to the veterinarian, he tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Only cats can get FIV. People and Dogs cannot get the virus. Cats with FIV can live normal lives, both in quality and duration!! They just need to be monitored more closely for infections and dental issues. He can live in a home with other cats that are FIV positive. And he can also live with cats that are not FIV positive. But in both situations, further discussion would be needed between applicant and his foster parents to insure that all cats would get along peacefully. Of course he would be great as an only cat in a home with just adults or a family with respectful kids 6 years or older. Or as a housemate for a low-key dog or two, given a proper introduction.
We know there is someone or a family out there who will love this Big Lebowski and give him the happy-ever-after that he needs, because he has so much love yet to share 🥰 ADOPTION FEE $50. FOSTERED IN MILWAUKEE, WI.
