Project Description

Adoption angel needed!!

Oreo is a BLACK AND WHITE DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR.  He is 2 years old, neutered and has his claws.  Oreo is a special needs kitty who is mostly or entirely blind and FIV-positive. Oreo gets around very well. Unlike many blind cats, he does not walk along the walls.  Therefore, we cannot tell if he can see shadows if he is just very adept at being blind!  He can climb stairs and cat trees.  Oreo is great with other cats (This is important to note because it is quite common for FIV+ cats to live very long lives and be otherwise generally healthy in a community of cats, as long as there’s no aggressive fighting that would lead to a deep bite wound that would transfer the disease to any other cat.)   Oreo stays with his foster family when they are home.  He follows them from room to room. He likes to sit on in laps or next to his foster family in a chair when they watch tv or read. Oreo is content to sleep in a chair at night. Oreo also loves to play with toys. Since he does not exhibit mobility-limitations, respectful children would be fine. Anyone considering adoption must be willing to provide regular medical check ups – once or twice a year, as well as be willing to address any problem they might see immediately. With cats who test positive for FIV, a loving home,  healthy food, and regular medical attention can provide them with the support to live a good, long life. SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION FEE $25.  FOSTERED IN GURNEE, IL.
