Project Description

JESSIE is a gorgeous, 6 year old, female Abyssinian and weighs about 7 pounds. She is current on her vaccinations and has all her claws. Jessie came to SPCR from a retired breeder where she was one of many kitties and not comfortable with people. When she came to her foster home, she avoided interacting with her foster family for several weeks as she was getting used to the sounds and smells of her foster home.  It took a few months for Jessie to come out of her shell, and she’s now willing to be petted and will talk to you when she’s hungry.  She still gets a little skittish with new people and loud noises, but she’s ready to continue her journey to being a lovable companion in her forever home.  Jessie has been a wonderful house guest, eating well (she’s very food motivated!) and using her litter box 100% of the time.  She enjoys playing with wand toys, pens, balls of paper and anything else she can find in her foster mom’s office.  Her favorite places to nap are either in a box (or cat carrier), her foster mom’s laptop computer (it’s warm there!) or on a big, soft blanket.  Jessie is very friendly with other cats and would probably be OK with a very respectful dog (although she’s never met a one). Jessie has not been exposed to children and she runs away when not comfortable in a situation; as a result, her foster family believes that older, respectful children would likely be OK for her. She is curious, playful, and in her very small voice, she will ask for food, did I mention she is food motivated?  Jessie will need a very patient and cat-knowledgeable person to help her continue to grow and find her place with your family. ADOPTION FEE  $300.Fostered in Union Grove, WI.
