Project Description

Gatsby

GATSBY is a beautiful male BICOLOR PERSIAN with the most stunning light blue eyes! Gatsby is around 10 months old, FIV/FELV negative, neutered, and has his claws. He weighs 11 pounds and has a beautiful silky Persian coat that is fluffy and silky at the same time!

Gatsby came into care with his brother, Bespin, because they were dropped off at a shelter by a breeder who didn’t want to pay to take care of these two sick kittens. SPCR stepped in and got them into care where Gatsby has absolutely thrived! He loves to be the center of attention, talking to his foster mother, and scolding her for not giving him enough food and pets! Gatsby has a bold and funny personality, so he needs a home that will be able to accommodate that!

Gatsby is your average kitten that needs an appropriate amount of stimulation through wand toys, scratchers, and cat perches. He loves to jump and perch up on a cat tree and look out the window and loves his mice toys. He loves to play and will play with you every time you bring out a toy!

Gatsby is also one of the most loving cats! He doesn’t mind being held and often starts purring when his foster mom gives him a hug in the morning. He loves being brushed and will need to go to a home that will be dedicated to brushing him everyday so he doesn’t get matted. Additionally, Gatsby needs a more Persian/Himalayan experienced home because of his extremely flat face. He will need his eye area cleaned 1-2 times a day and will need a family that is experienced with the health problems Persians/Himalayans are predisposed to.

Gatsby is listed as special needs because he needs to be on the Hill’s Science Diet Z/D dry and wet food diet.

Because of all this, Gatsby would do best in a home where he would be the center of attention or get a large portion of it! He doesn’t seem to like many cats, so he would be best having one younger cat friend that wouldn’t mind having a bold kitten come in, would do fine with a cat friendly dog, or would do fine by himself! He also wouldn’t mind a home with children that are slightly older or understood when Gatsby wants to be by himself. Gatsby would also appreciate a home more experienced with Persians/Himalayans. ADOPTION FEE $350. FOSTERED IN MOUNT PROSPECT, IL
